Spicy Fragrances Heating Up Summer

While fresh florals traditionally dominate retail shelves during the summer, destination-inspired spicy and sultry aromas have emerged in popularity. In fact, Expert Market Research projects the spice segment to acquire roughly half of the natural fragrance ingredients market share by 2027 at $24.55 billion.
Warm Spice
Warm spicy fragrances often combine gourmand notes like cardamon and vanilla with summery classics like coconut and contain heavier base notes known to keep fragrance on the skin longer. Le Labo’s Santal 33 blends top notes of cardamon and iris, balanced by leather and musk. Sol de Janeiro claims that Brazilian Crush Cheirosa ’62, a sultry hair & body mist, “will transport you to the sultry beaches of Rio de Janeiro.”

Citrus and fig have become prevalent summer staples, inspiring several new products.
